Il castello di Kirchscheidungen si trova nella frazione di Kirchscheidungen del comune di Laucha an der Unstrut nel Burgenlandkreis in Sassonia-Anhalt.
Il castello inferiore era un feudo sassone ed era anche conosciuto come Kempnater. Era di proprietà dei Knutonen e deve essere stato un monumento interessante. In un'antica immagine della biblioteca del castello di Burgscheidungen, espropriata e rimossa nel 1945, si può vedere: "una pittoresca rovina, vicina all'Unstrut, una torre rotonda con la muraglia adiacente della cappella e una torre angolare, poi collegata tramite un ponte di pietra, una casa massiccia e spaziosa, tuttavia coperta di paglia, con un cancello ad arco, lungo il fiume un muro di contenimento." L'immagine è così "pittoresca" che i dettagli non possono essere definiti con precisione.
