La Richard-Schirrmann-Realschule è stata una ex scuola secondaria ad Altena, che è stata chiusa alla fine dell'anno scolastico 2016/2017.
La struttura era intitolata alla personalità di Richard Schirrmann, che ha influenzato la città e la sua storia, e che nel 1907 fondò il primo ostello giovanile provvisorio, che nel 1912 si trasferì al castello di Altena. Questo si trovava nel vecchio edificio della scuola, allora ancora chiamata Netterschule. Il vecchio edificio fu demolito negli anni '60. Successivamente, la scuola è stata completamente ricostruita nella forma attuale. Nel 1998 la scuola secondaria si è trasferita nell'ultimo edificio utilizzato.
