Il Waldstein è una catena montuosa settentrionale del Fichtelgebirge in Oberfranken, Baviera. Geograficamente appartiene all'unità principale Hohes Fichtelgebirge. Dal settembre 2010 esiste una nuova proposta per le aree naturali del nord della Baviera, secondo la quale il Waldsteingzug è un'unità autonoma.
La vetta più alta è il Große Waldstein. Partendo da ovest, si trovano parzialmente sulla catena montuosa: Die Bärenhöhe e der Bergkopf, poi il Gratzberg, il Predigtberg e il Reutberg, il Lehstenberg, il Vordere Mittelberg, lo Schnittlein e il Schindelberg, il Kreuzstein e il Wechselbühl. Inoltre, l'Epprechtstein, il Kleine Waldstein e il crinale forestale del Hallersteiner Wald a sud del villaggio di Hallerstein, il Hintere Mittelberg e il Schiedarangen. A est, il Kleine Kornberg insieme al Reutbühl formano il passaggio al Großen Kornberg.
