La torre dell'acqua, dipinta di bianco e accuratamente restaurata, di Neumünster si trova in Christianstraße. Fu costruita dal 1899 al 1900 nell'area dell'impianto idrico. Con i suoi 48 metri, è la torre dell'acqua più alta dello Schleswig-Holstein.
La "Baltische AG Licht-, Kraft- und Wasserwerke Neumünster" costruì la torre dell'acqua insieme all'impianto idrico e a una centrale elettrica. La centrale elettrica forniva energia con le sue macchine a vapore e generatori per azionare le pompe a pistone. Queste traevano l'acqua da 18 pozzi tubolari profondi circa 30 metri.
