L'Urberg fa parte della Foresta di Teutoburgo. Si trova a nord-ovest del centro di Bad Iburg e a sud-ovest del Dörenberg, l'alta cima di questa parte della Foresta di Teutoburgo. A nord si trova il Grafensundern, alto 310 metri. A nord-ovest si trova il comune di Hagen am Teutoburger Wald, a nord la città di Georgsmarienhütte. L'Urberg si estende da sud-est a nord-ovest. A nord-ovest, presso Holperdorp, una frazione del comune di Lienen situata nella regione di Tecklenburg, raggiunge il confine con il Land della Renania Settentrionale-Vestfalia. Sul lato nord scorre il Sunderbach. L'Urberg è accessibile tramite sentieri escursionistici.
