La Lutter è un affluente di destra lungo 25,0 km del fiume Ems in Renania Settentrionale-Vestfalia, Germania.
Ha origine nel quartiere di Bielefeld Quelle a un'altezza di 127 m s.l.m. e scorre inizialmente in direzione sud-ovest attraverso Bielefeld-Ummeln, poi attraverso la frazione di Gütersloh di Isselhorst, dove nel centro abitato incontra il Reiherbach. A circa un chilometro da Isselhorst si trova nel territorio di Niehorst l'impianto di trattamento delle acque reflue "Obere Lutter", attivo dal 1967. Nel suo ulteriore percorso, la Lutter sfiora il bordo nord della frazione di Gütersloh di Blankenhagen e scorre nel territorio della città di Harsewinkel attraverso l'area naturale protetta della Hühnermoor e la frazione di Marienfeld, dove il fiume attraversa la linea ferroviaria della Teutoburger Wald. Il fiume passa sotto la strada federale 513 e infine sfocia a 59 m s.l.m. nei Boombergen a sud di Harsewinkel nell'Ems.
