La chiesa di San Giovanni Battista a Neu-Ulm è stata costruita come chiesa della guarnigione nel 1857. Oggi è la chiesa parrocchiale cattolica della parrocchia di San Giovanni Battista nel centro cittadino e nel quartiere di Schwaighofen.
La chiesa, chiamata anche chiesa commemorativa dei guerrieri negli anni '30, è stata ampliata e architettonicamente trasformata nella forma attuale da Dominikus Böhm tra il 1922 e il 1926 e dopo la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Un'ultima completa restaurazione dal 1980 al 1985 ha conferito all'interno della chiesa l'aspetto attuale. Secondo esperti, San Giovanni Battista è considerata una delle chiese più significative del 20° secolo in stile espressionista a livello mondiale.
