L'area umida dello Schweimker Moor e Lüderbruch è stata protetta nel 1989. L'area naturale di circa 834 ettari della Bassa Sassonia si trova tra Lüder a nord-est e Schweimke a sud-ovest e porta la designazione statistica "NSG BR 53". Gran parte dell'area è anche designata come zona di protezione degli uccelli dell'UE V33. Inoltre, una parte di circa cinque ettari della zona di conservazione "Ise con affluenti" era all'interno dell'area protetta. Questa è stata estratta dall'area protetta il 24 dicembre 2020 e reindicata come area protetta "Oberer Gosebach". L'area dell'area protetta "Schweimker Moor und Lüderbruch" è quindi diminuita di circa cinque ettari. Le autorità locali responsabili per la protezione della natura sono i distretti di Uelzen e Gifhorn.
Oltre alle aree di paludi alte e basse, ci sono ampie foreste di ontano e betulla in quest'area. Il passaggio di piccole zone di erica di torba, popolazioni di graminacee, foreste di torba e terreni erbosi caratterizza una parte del complesso di torbiere alte.
