Il museo è ospitato in una piccola casa protetta come bene culturale, che fu originariamente costruita nel 1902 come stazione di polizia. Viene esposta un'ampia collezione di circa 1.000 pezzi di campane, campanelli e sonagli su una superficie di circa 465 m², tra cui due campane risalenti all'epoca romana. In un luogo di lavoro ricostruito fedelmente, si può immaginare l'attività di un fonditore di campane.
Il museo possiede, tra l'altro per scopi dimostrativi, una propria fonderia per il bronzo.
Nell'anno 2010 si è svolta una ristrutturazione del museo delle campane, durante la quale è stata aggiunta una grande sala espositiva e una nuova area di ingresso. In questo modo, la superficie espositiva è quasi raddoppiata.
