Il Rüdenstein è un monumento di proprietà dello stato a Leichlingen, al confine diretto con la città di Solingen, vicino alla località di Rüden di Solingen.
Il 26 maggio 1927, il giorno dell'Ascensione dell'anno, il monumento è stato svelato sul pendio di fronte al Kotten di Obenrüdener. L'iniziatore è stato il club di abbellimento di Widdert. L'artista metallico e designer industriale di Solingen F. Otto Hoppe è stato incaricato del progetto e dell'esecuzione. La figura del cane proviene dall'azienda Pollmann & Stupp di Elberfeld ed è realizzata in pietra artificiale. La base è stata realizzata dal muratore di Solingen Karl Groh. Il consiglio del comune di Witzhelden, il cui territorio comunale ospitava la posizione del monumento, ha respinto categoricamente una partecipazione finanziaria, ma ha introdotto poco dopo l'inaugurazione una tassa sui cani sul territorio comunale.
