De Rüdenstein is een rijksmonument in Leichlingen, aan de directe stadsgrens met Solingen, dichtbij de Solinger hofstede Rüden.
Op 26 mei 1927, de Hemelvaartsdag van dat jaar, werd het monument onthuld op de helling tegenover de Obenrüdener Kotten. De initiatiefnemer was de Vereniging voor Schoonheid van Widdert. De Solinger metaalartiest en industrieel ontwerper F. Otto Hoppe werd belast met het ontwerp en de uitvoering. Het hondenfiguur komt van het Elberfelder bedrijf Pollmann & Stupp en is gemaakt van kunststeen. De sokkel is vervaardigd door de Solinger metselaar Karl Groh. De Raad van de gemeente Witzhelden, waar het monument zich op het grondgebied van de gemeente bevond, weigerde strikt een financiële bijdrage, maar voerde kort na de inwijding een hondenbelasting in op het grondgebied van de gemeente.
