El Rüdenstein es un monumento de propiedad estatal en Leichlingen, en la frontera directa con Solingen, cerca de la aldea Solinger Rüden.
El 26 de mayo de 1927, el día de la Ascensión de ese año, se desveló el monumento en la ladera frente al Obenrüdener Kotten. El iniciador fue la Asociación de Embellecimiento de Widderter. El artista del metal y diseñador industrial solingense F. Otto Hoppe fue contratado para el diseño y la ejecución. La figura del perro proviene de la empresa Pollmann & Stupp de Elberfeld y está hecha de piedra artificial. El pedestal fue fabricado por el maestro albañil solingense Karl Groh. El consejo del municipio de Witzhelden, en cuyo territorio se encontraba el sitio del monumento, rechazó estrictamente una participación financiera, pero poco después de la inauguración implementó un impuesto a los perros en su territorio municipal.
