La casa Laubach è una sede medievale di cavalieri presso Mettmann, un tempo circondata da fossati. Il suo nome deriva dalla parola germanica lahu per acqua, lago o stagno.
La sede dei cavalieri era un feudo della corte reale di Mettmann e fino al XII secolo dava la decima alla chiesa di San Lambertus a Mettmann. Dal 1198 la tenuta doveva pagare le tasse al capitolo di Kaiserswerth. Il balivo dell'abbazia di Werden, Ludekin von Buer, e sua moglie Fye acquistarono la casa nel 1376 e vi risiedettero. Nel 1429 i figli di Ludekin, Hermann e Mettel, divisero l'eredità parentale. La casa Laubach passò insieme ad altre proprietà a Mettel e a suo marito Maes von Ulenbroich. Nel 1514 la casa passò a Goswin Lutter von Eller, la cui famiglia abitò la casa per oltre 300 anni. Nel 1810 la proprietà comprendeva in totale 245 mughi.
