La Zarow è un fiume di pianura situato a est della Meclemburgo-Pomerania Anteriore. L'area, solcata da numerosi canali, della Grande Prateria di Friedländer è drenata tra l'altro dalla Zarow. A tal fine, la Zarow è stata scavata tra Meiersberg e Grambin. Con l'incontro di due canali principali presso Ferdinandshof, il fiume inizia il suo percorso di circa 16 km verso nord attraverso l'Heide di Ueckermünde.
