Ferropolis è un museo industriale e un luogo di eventi vicino a Gräfenhainichen, a est di Dessau, su una penisola nel lago di Gremminer, l'ex miniera di Golpa-Nord. Ferropolis è un punto di riferimento della Rotta Europea della Cultura Industriale.
In origine, in questo luogo si trovavano le officine, l'approvvigionamento energetico e le strutture sociali della miniera di Golpa-Nord, una parte del distretto minerario di Bitterfeld. Fino al 1955, una linea ferroviaria mineraria collegava Bergwitz con la centrale elettrica di Zschornewitz. Parti del tracciato ferroviario abbandonato sono state successivamente utilizzate come strada di accesso per la miniera di lignite di Golpa-Nord e successivamente per il collegamento di Ferropolis. La ferrovia mineraria e le attuali linee di raccordo per Ferropolis sono state costruite parallelamente a questa ex linea ferroviaria.
