La battaglia di Frankenhausen, combattuta il 14-15 maggio 1525, nei pressi di Frankenhausen nella contea di Schwarzburg, pose fine alla cosiddetta guerra dei contadini, la rivolta popolare scoppiata in Germania tra il 1524 ed il 1525.
Il movimento era iniziato nel 1524, quando le comunità riformate, sotto l'impulso del millenarista Thomas Müntzer, proclamarono il loro diritto di scegliere liberamente il proprio pastore.
Lutero, in un primo tempo sembrò accettare le richieste dei rivoltosi, ma quando si rese conto dell'ampiezza assunta dal movimento e del fatto che molti principi lo indicavano come responsabile della rivolta, inviò il principe Filippo I d'Assia a reprimere il movimento.
