Cannewitz, obersorbische, è un villaggio nel distretto di Bautzen, in Sassonia orientale, e appartiene dal 1994 al comune di Malschwitz. Si trova nell'Alta Lusazia e si trova nella zona abitata dai Sorabi.
Cannewitz è un villaggio a forma di rotonda espanso a piazza, situato a circa 11 km a est di Bautzen e 5 km a sud-est di Malschwitz. Si trova nell'area fluviale comune delle acque di Kotitzer e Löbauer, con la prima che attraversa il paese e la seconda che scorre un po' a est. Nonostante la loro vicinanza reciproca - in alcuni punti sono distanti solo 100 metri - il confluire avviene solo alcuni chilometri a nord. Sia verso sud che verso est il terreno sale verso l'area dell'Alta Lusazia, mentre l'ambiente occidentale è relativamente pianeggiante fino alle colline di Kreckwitz e in direzione nord.
