La pietra si trovava originariamente presso Schloßheck al confine tra Niederprüm e Orlenbach. Nel 1915 fu scavata e spostata da cercatori di tesori. Nel 1933 fu trasferita come pietra commemorativa nella sua posizione attuale lungo Bahnhofstraße di fronte al cimitero cittadino di Prüm.
Il menhir ha un'altezza totale di 340 cm, di cui 240 cm sporgono dal terreno; la sua larghezza è di 90 cm e la sua profondità di 85 cm. Non ci sono informazioni sul materiale. Il menhir ha una forma approssimativamente a pilastro e si restringe a una punta; circa dalla metà la sua forma diventa irregolare. Un lato è parzialmente levigato.
