L'area protetta di Werder Besandten si trova nel territorio del comune di Lenzerwische, nel distretto di Prignitz, in Brandeburgo.
L'area con il numero identificativo 1425 è stata protetta con un'ordinanza del 16 maggio 1990. L'area protetta, che si estende per circa 113 ha, si trova a nord-ovest, a ovest e a sud di Besandten, una frazione abitata di Lenzerwische. L'area si trova direttamente lungo il corso occidentale dell'Elba. Lungo il centro dell'Elba passa il confine statale con la Bassa Sassonia e al confine settentrionale dell'area il confine con la Meclemburgo-Pomerania. La B 195 scorre a est, mentre a nord-est scorre la Löcknitz, un affluente destro dell'Elba.
