Il Comando Multinazionale CIMIC è la quarta generazione di CIMIC nelle Forze Armate tedesche. Già alla fine del 2001, un'unità predecessore composta da contingenti dell'Esercito, dell'Aeronautica e della Marina fu istituita come parte della nuova base delle forze armate nella caserma di Clausewitz a Nienburg/Weser. La forza ammonta, dopo l'adattamento strutturale avvenuto nel 2017, a circa 200 soldati e collaboratori civili. Oltre a queste persone in servizio a Nienburg, il MN CIMIC Command riceve supporto per scopi operativi attraverso 81 posti di lavoro, che sono localizzati in 15 comandi nazionali, da soldati in servizio presso il Centro di Eccellenza per la Cooperazione Civile-Militare, nonché da ulteriori tre posti di lavoro presso l'Accademia Federale per la Protezione Civile e la Difesa Civile a Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler.
