Neunkirchen è la seconda frazione più piccola del comune di Modautal nell'Odenwald ed è il paese situato alla quota più elevata nel distretto di Darmstadt-Dieburg nel Sud dell'Assia.
Neunkirchen si trova nella parte anteriore dell'Odenwald presso la Neunkircher Höhe, la cima più alta dell'Odenwald hessiano. A sud-ovest del paese si snoda la strada statale 3399. Le frazioni adiacenti sono Brandau a ovest, Lützelbach a nord-nordovest, Steinau a nord-est, Winterkasten a sud e Gadernheim a sud-ovest. Un altro paese vicino è Laudenau a sud-est.
