Walter Busch fondò nel 1934 con il nome Walter Busch Sohn un "commercio per corrispondenza di articoli da taglio di alta qualità di Solingen". Negli anni '50 l'azienda si specializzò nella spedizione di elettrodomestici e articoli per la casa, in particolare rasoi elettrici. Nel 1959 Walbusch inserì camicie in Nyltest senza stiratura nel catalogo. Questo segnò l'inizio del passaggio al commercio tessile. Nel 1963 seguì la camicia Walbusch con il colletto senza bottone. Questa camicia, che fu registrata come brevetto nel 1999 per la sua particolare forma del colletto, è ancora oggi considerata il marchio distintivo dell'azienda.
