Algeciras è una città spagnola di circa 114.000 abitanti nella provincia di Cadice, nella comunità autonoma dell'Andalusia.La città è posta all'estremo meridionale della penisola iberica, sullo stretto di Gibilterra, in una piccola baia sopra una terrazza di arenaria rossa depositata in epoca quaternaria dal Río de la Miel.
