La Battaglia di Lutos ebbe luogo nell'anno 794. Su ordine dell'emiro di Cordova, Hisham I, i fratelli Abd al-Karim ibn Abd al-Walid ibn Mugaith e Abd al-Malik ibn Abd al-Walid ibn Mugaith invasero il regno di Asturia.
Abd al-Karim adottò una tattica di terra bruciata in Álava, mentre suo fratello, Abd al-Malik, diresse le sue truppe nel cuore del regno asturiano. A parte la città di Oviedo, affrontò poca resistenza. Distrusse gran parte del territorio, comprese le chiese costruite da Fruela I di Asturia.
