Il castello di Olivenza è una fortezza situata nella popolazione spagnola con lo stesso nome, situata nella provincia di Badajoz, al confine con il Portogallo. Costruito nel XIII secolo. Il castello fu eretto dall'Ordine del Tempio, alla quale Alfonso IX cedette il villaggio come pagamento per il suo aiuto nella conquista della taifa di Badajoz. Dopo essere passato in mano portoghese, don Dinis lo murò nel 1298. Più tardi, nel 1488, don João ordinò di costruire la torre dell'omaggio che risultò essere la più alta del Portogallo. Dopo essere passato in mani portoghesi, spagnole e francesi, Olivenza appartiene al regno di Spagna dal 1801. Risultò molto danneggiato durante la guerra d'Indipendenza e per l'abbandono successivo.
