L'Istituto di Ricerca sull'AIDS IrsiCaixa, o semplicemente IrsiCaixa, è un istituto di ricerca biomedica privato senza scopo di lucro, situato a Badalona, nelle dipendenze dell'Ospedale Universitario Germans Trias i Pujol.[1] È stato creato nel 1995 per iniziativa del Dr. Bonaventura Clotet ed è sostenuto dall'Obra Social “la Caixa” e dal Dipartimento della Salute della Generalitat della Catalogna,[2] e fa parte della rete dei Centri di Ricerca della Catalogna.[3] Il suo obiettivo è contribuire a migliorare le conoscenze, la prevenzione e i trattamenti dell'infezione da HIV e delle malattie correlate, con l'ultimo scopo di eradicare la pandemia dell'AIDS.[4]
