Le Moustier è un sito preistorico nella valle della Vézère presso Peyzac-le-Moustier nel dipartimento francese della Dordogna. Il Mousteriano, una delle periodi del Paleolitico da 120.000 a 40.000 anni fa, è stato nominato dopo questo sito. Il sperone roccioso, a gradini, contenente i due siti di rinvenimento, formato da calcare dell'Obereturon e del Coniacium Inferiore, si trova nelle immediate vicinanze di Le Moustier, a solo 100 metri a nord della chiesa. In questo sperone roccioso si trovano i due principali siti di rinvenimento: un'abri superiore abitata nel Mousteriano e 15 metri sotto, a livello della moderna valle della Vézère, un'abri inferiore. Lo sperone roccioso si trova tra Vimont e Vézère, dai quali è stato modellato. È coronato da una grotta. Le pareti sopra le Abris sono parzialmente strapiombanti.
