All'interno delle mura dell'abbazia, il maresciallo Ferdinand Foch cercava riposo e riflessione durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale. L'abbazia cistercense di Katsberg (Abbaye du Mont des Cats) fu fondata nel XVII secolo da monaci belgi, ma distrutta durante la Rivoluzione Francese. Nel 1826 il monastero è stato ricostruito. I trappisti dell'abbazia producono un formaggio, l'Abbaye du Mont des Cats, che è paragonabile al Port Salut.
