Selles-sur-Cher è un comune francese di 4.726 abitanti situato nel dipartimento del Loir-et-Cher, nella regione del Centro-Valle della Loira.È delimitata a nord dal fiume Sauldre ed è attraversata dal canale di Berry e dal Cher.Il nome deriva dalla forma plurale del termine latino del Basso Medioevo cella, nel significato di "cella del monaco in un monastero". Chiamata dapprima Cellule, poi Celle-Saint-Eusice, diventò Selles-Notre-Dame, quindi Selles-en-Berry prima di arrivare all'attuale Selles-sur-Cher.
