Il Grand Ballon è la montagna più alta (1424 m) della regione francese delle Vosgi.
La montagna si trova nella parte sud della cresta. La cima è subito sopra il limite degli alberi. Si possono fare belle passeggiate nei dintorni del Grand Ballon. Dalla cima, c'è una bella vista sui dintorni del Grand Ballon nelle Vosgi. Molto più a sud, si può vedere le Alpi. Tra le altre cose, il Monte Bianco è facilmente visibile.
La caratteristica del Grand Ballon è un radar sulla cima del monte.
Il Grand Ballon è una delle vette sulla quale porta la Route des Crêtes, che collega tutte le alture del massiccio vosgiano in direzione nord-sud. La strada arriva a 1325 m proprio sotto la cima sopra un passo. Ci sono molte biciclette su questa strada, ma molti turisti arrivano anche al Grand Ballon in auto.
