La Città fortificata storica di Carcassonne è un complesso architettonico medievale situato all'esterno della città francese di Carcassonne nel dipartimento dell'Aude, regione dell'Occitania. Si trova sulla riva destra del fiume Aude, a sud-est dell'attuale città. Questa cittadella medievale fortificata, le cui origini risalgono al periodo gallo-romano, deve la sua fama al suo doppio sistema murario, che raggiunge quasi i 3 km di lunghezza, comprende cinquantadue torri e domina la valle dell'Aude.
