Questo imponente monumento, opera dell'architetto Sir Edwin Lutyens, riporta sulle sue colonne i nomi di oltre 72.000 soldati britannici e sudafricani di cui non si conosce la tomba. Di fronte al monumento si trova un cimitero dove sono sepolti 300 soldati francesi e 300 soldati del Commonwealth.
