Il castello di Beynac è situato nel villaggio di Beynac-et-Cazenac, in Dordogna e in particolare nel Périgord nero. Uno dei meglio conservati e fra i più famosi della regione, è classificato fra i monumenti storici dall'11 febbraio 1944.
Si tratta di un edificio medievale, di aspetto austero, arroccato sulla cima di una falesia calcarea che domina il borgo sulla riva destra della Dordogna.
