Il massiccio del Giura è una catena montuosa calcarea situata a nord delle Alpi, che segna una parte del confine tra Francia e Svizzera e raggiunge un'altitudine massima di 1 720 metri.
In Francia, occupa essenzialmente la regione Franca Contea e si estende nella regione Rodano-Alpi, nell'est del dipartimento dell'Ain e al nord-ovest del dipartimento della Savoia. Il massiccio del Giura occupa l'estrema parte meridionale del dipartimento dell'Alto Reno, in Alsazia, dove non supera gli 800 metri d'altitudine. La catena si prolunga in Germania con due altopiani calcarei di altitudine modesta, situati nel Baden-Württemberg e in Baviera .
