Sembra che questo porto esistesse già in epoca romana, a 3,50 m sotto il livello attuale. All'epoca si trovava sull'estuario del Leyre. Luogo di tranquillità in mezzo a grandi querce, invita i pittori a sistemare i loro cavalletti per disegnare le colorate capanne dei pescatori sullo sfondo del fiume e della vegetazione lussureggiante, e i più avventurosi a imbarcarsi su canoe o kayak per sorprendenti gite attraverso la foresta della galleria o tra i canneti verso il bacino. 152 pontili gestiti dal Comune ospitano le imbarcazioni dei diportisti (pescaggio massimo di 1,20 m durante i forti coefficienti di marea, scivolo e servizi igienici in loco, negozi a 2 km).
