Il museo dipartimentale si trova al piano terra dell'ex residenza estiva di Raymond Poincaré, costruita tra il 1906 e il 1913 in stile neo-Louis XIII dall'architetto di Nancy Bourgon.
Nato a Bar-le-Duc nel 1860, Raymond Poincaré fu sei volte ministro e Presidente della Repubblica dal 1913 al 1920.
Il museo rievoca l'ascesa di questo politico, giurista e letterato che ha avuto un profondo impatto sulla storia.

È possibile visitare il Giardino di Clos Poincaré (Chemin rural de la Tuilerie - Castel néo-Louis XIII). La residenza sulla Mosa di Raymond Poincaré ha un giardino a gradoni che si affaccia sulla valle della Mosa, con aiuole all'italiana, pittoresche opere rocciose, specie dell'Ecole de Nancy e un roseto.
Un sistema di segnaletica del patrimonio su 10 tavoli con piedistallo metallico permette ai visitatori di rivivere l'atmosfera del giardino dall'epoca di Raymond Poincaré ai giorni nostri. Mostre temporanee sulla storia locale e sul periodo di Poincaré.
Il museo è aperto ai gruppi tutto l'anno, su richiesta.
