Il campanile-portico della chiesa di Sainte-Marie-de-Mimizan è l'ultima testimonianza di un importante priorato benedettino del XII secolo. Dietro le sue mura di mattoni si trova uno dei più bei portali scolpiti del sud-ovest della Francia. Costruito all'inizio del XIII secolo, questo gioiello dell'arte medievale ha conservato la sua policromia e presenta una delle più antiche rappresentazioni francesi di Santiago de Compostela. Il portico del campanile ospita anche dipinti murali risalenti al XV secolo. Classificato come monumento storico nel 1903 e nel 1995. Nel 1998 è stata dichiarata Patrimonio dell'Umanità grazie alle Strade di San Giacomo.
Uno spazio museografico completa la visita. La mostra ripercorre la storia naturale e umana dell'area, dalla preistoria al Medioevo.
