La Chapelle de la Madeleine e la sua spianata sono uno dei luoghi più emblematici di Bidart, sulla Costa Basca. Forse il più antico del comune, fu distrutto nel 1817 da un uragano e ricostruito nel 1820. La sua posizione eccezionale, sopra l'oceano, e la santa a cui è dedicata, Madeleine, l'hanno resa un punto di riferimento privilegiato sul percorso dei pellegrini verso Santiago de Compostela.
