A soli 10 minuti da Bidache e Peyrehorade, e vicino a Bayonne lungo il fiume Adour, il Lac de Sames si trova nella regione di Sharnègou.
Il lago, che si estende su 18 ettari, è autorizzato alla balneazione ed è sorvegliato da personale qualificato. Dal 1992 è stato inserito nell'inventario nazionale per l'eccellente qualità delle sue acque. Sono disponibili anche una spiaggia di sabbia, scivoli e un parco acquatico per bambini dai 4 agli 11 anni. Tavoli da picnic a noleggio. Sono presenti anche impianti di risalita (wakeboard, kneeboard, snowboard) e di pesca (carpa, luccio, storione, blackbass, lasca). La pizzeria è aperta la sera, così come il ristorante in stagione. La tenuta offre anche chalet in affitto. Le passeggiate intorno al lago, fuori stagione, sono gratuite.
