Situata sulla strada che porta all'aeroporto di Pau-Uzein dalla città medievale di Lescar, la cappella fu inaugurata nel 1927 e costruita proprio dietro la Scuola di Aviazione Militare di Pau.
Restaurata nel 2007 e gestita dall'Associazione "L'Amicale de la Chapelle Mémorial de l'Aviation et du Camp Guynemer", è un luogo unico per scoprire gli archivi dell'aviazione militare, vicino alla culla dell'aviazione militare francese. La cappella è decorata da diverse vetrate (tra cui quella di Notre-Dame-de-Lorette, patrona degli aviatori) e da numerose stele in memoria di storici aviatori civili e militari che hanno volato nei cieli di Palais, come i fratelli Wright nel 1909. Un piccolo museo espone pannelli, mostre organizzate dall'associazione, archivi e pubblicazioni varie relative all'aviazione di Palais.
