La chiesa originale fu ricostruita nel 1840 perché considerata pericolosa. Il campanile fu ricostruito sotto Napoleone III, dopo una donazione del visconte di Pontac. In segno di gratitudine, il comune fece scolpire le sue braccia e quelle della moglie sull'edificio. Il conte è stato ancora una volta generoso nel restaurare le vetrate. Una di esse è sormontata da un disegno su sfondo rosso gules con stelle che richiamano le armi di Pontac. I quattro capitelli sono incastonati nella parete del presbiterio dove, come modiglioni, fungono da mensole per il cornicione.
