De oorspronkelijke kerk werd in 1840 herbouwd omdat ze als gevaarlijk werd beschouwd. De klokkentoren werd herbouwd onder Napoleon III, na een schenking van de burggraaf van Pontac. Uit dankbaarheid liet de gemeente zijn armen en die van zijn vrouw op het gebouw beeldhouwen. De graaf was weer gul met het restaureren van de glas-in-lood ramen. Een ervan wordt bekroond door een ontwerp op een rode gulden achtergrond met sterren die herinneren aan het wapen van Pontac. De vier kapitelen zijn aangebracht in de muur van het priesterkoor waar ze, net als modillions, dienen als consoles voor de kroonlijst.
