Questa roccaforte feudale svolse un importante ruolo economico e militare. Il castello originario fu demolito intorno al 1302 per ordine di Filippo il Bello. Successivamente, questa piazza, protetta da bastioni, ospitò un piccolo insediamento, che esisteva ancora nel XVI secolo. Il mulino, il ponte medievale, la cappella, la porta fortificata, le mura di cinta e gli edifici del XVI secolo rendono questo sito meraviglioso, ricco di storia e inserito in un paesaggio straordinario.
