Monumento emblematico del campo di battaglia, l'Ossario ospita circa 130.000 corpi non identificati di soldati francesi e tedeschi.
Il biglietto d'ingresso dà diritto a una proiezione di venti minuti di "Verdun des hommes de Boue" (proiezioni ogni mezz'ora, capienza 144 posti. Traduzione simultanea in tedesco, inglese, olandese, russo e cinese) e alla visita del chiostro, della cappella e della torre, che offre una vista panoramica dell'intero campo di battaglia. Di fronte all'ossario si trova l'immensa necropoli nazionale di Douaumont, dove sono sepolti più di 16.000 soldati francesi.
