Monumento emblemático del campo de batalla, el Osario alberga unos 130.000 cuerpos no identificados de soldados franceses y alemanes.
La entrada da derecho a una proyección de veinte minutos de "Verdun des hommes de Boue" (proyecciones cada media hora, aforo de 144 localidades. Traducción simultánea en alemán, inglés, neerlandés, ruso y chino) y una visita al claustro, la capilla y la torre, que ofrece una vista panorámica de todo el campo de batalla. Frente al osario se encuentra la inmensa Necrópolis Nacional de Douaumont, donde están enterrados más de 16.000 soldados franceses.
