Lo scopo di questo frutteto è quello di preservare le vecchie varietà, di moltiplicarle e di rendere disponibili le marze e le piante innestate. Ha anche uno scopo educativo per scolari e turisti. Dovrebbe incoraggiare il desiderio di mantenere e piantare alberi da frutto.
A seconda della richiesta, i membri dell'associazione La Costelle possono organizzare giornate di formazione e chiunque voglia partecipare può unirsi al gruppo e prendere parte alla cura del frutteto.
