Het doel van deze boomgaard is het behoud van de oude rassen, de vermeerdering ervan en het ter beschikking stellen van enten en geënte planten. Het heeft ook een educatief doel voor schoolkinderen en toeristen. Het moet de wens om fruitbomen te onderhouden en te planten stimuleren.
Afhankelijk van de vraag kunnen opleidingsdagen worden georganiseerd door leden van de vereniging La Costelle en iedereen die zich wil inzetten kan zich bij de groep aansluiten en deelnemen aan het onderhoud van de boomgaard.
