Ambrussum è un importante sito di ricerca archeologica, che testimonia la prima romanizzazione della Gallia Narbonese. Infatti, è l'unica tappa conosciuta della Via Domitia a non essere stata rioccupata dopo l'epoca romana: una manna archeologica! Ambrussum ha rivelato un'area di sosta per camion, un bastione classificato come monumento storico, domus gallo-romane e una strada acciottolata lunga 200 metri, segnata da solchi causati dai numerosi passaggi di carri, senza dimenticare un ponte romano, classificato come monumento storico dal 1840 e dipinto da Gustave Courbet. Dal 1968, successivi scavi archeologici hanno contribuito a definire i confini del sito, portando alla luce e comprendendo i suoi resti. Un museo del sito e un percorso di visita attraverso i resti forniscono ai visitatori le chiavi di lettura del sito. Durante tutto l'anno, il museo offre strumenti interattivi, visite guidate, laboratori, mostre ed eventi per tutte le età.
