Situato sul canale della Belette, il porto comunale di Vanneau, restaurato nell'ambito delle Grandi Opere del Marais Poitevin, era un tempo utilizzato dagli agricoltori per garantire lo sfruttamento delle loro paludi. Era vietato depositare le colture per più di 24 ore sulla banchina, per non interferire con l'andirivieni di barche e carri. L'ultimo sabato di luglio viene organizzato il "Mercato sull'acqua", dove i prodotti di privati e commercianti vengono venduti a più di 15.000 visitatori! Questo evento festivo riflette una delle tradizioni più singolari dell'orto: il trasporto di persone, animali e merci sulle vie d'acqua che formano la "Venezia Verde". Nella sua estensione, una passerella metallica del 1900 consente l'accesso ai giardini dell'orto. Tra la rue de la Belette e il corso d'acqua si allineano vecchie fattorie con due ingressi.
