Lasciatevi guidare in una città con un notevole patrimonio architettonico e paesaggistico dalle sorgenti della Boutonne. CAPUT che significa "testa" (sorgente) e quindi Chef, e VULTON, che negli anni è diventato "Boutonne", si deve intendere che il fiume Boutonne ha la sua sorgente nel cuore di Chef-Boutonne!
La passeggiata si snoda attraverso diverse tappe: la chiesa di Notre-Dame, che domina tutta la città vecchia, il castello di Javarzay, costruito nel 1513 da François de Rochechouart e uno dei più importanti della regione del Poitou, il suo stagno e il suo parco (arboreto), la Place Cail, i vicoli, il parco del municipio e il suo teatro all'aperto, e la chiesa di Saint-Chartier a Javarzay.
